We’ve gone through black, red, and violet. And although things started getting a little dark it is time to brighten things up with our next color.

Sunny foods to make your sunny day. YELLOW!
Yellow may not always be the best color to wear but it is one of the best colors to eat. Yellow is dominated by citrus fruits and sweet treats. It is one of the best colors to get a little sweet and sour mix-up.
Yellow Corn:

Yellow Corn is one of those foods that is great for improving your overall vitamin and mineral intake. The only thing it is really missing is calcium but we can’t hold that against it can we? Corn is an awesome source of fiber (especially if you forget to take off the husk ew); And unlike a lot of other vegetables it doesn’t lose its nutritional value nearly as fast when you cook it. If you are short on energy corn provides large amounts of thiamine, which provides energy without crashing.
Corn Chips do not count as more corn: If you aren’t a fan of corn on the cob, don’t start reaching for pop corn! Adding corn to any vegetable mix, from stir-frys to salsa is a great way to get more corn and, dare I say, improve the taste of your meal. If you are tired of the same side of corn try cooking it different way like roasting it in the oven. And next time you pick up tortillas, go for the corn instead of the wheat.
Lemon:

The first thing that probably comes to mind when you think of lemons is acid. But lemon doesn’t have to be “that horrid fruit that gives me heart burn.” Lemon is the king of Vitamin C, not orange. Lemons have over 150% of your DV of Vitamin C. Lemons are also a mild ANTI-inflamatory. Not to mention, it can clean pennies to shiny perfection. Don’t eat the pennies though, no matter how shiny.
Don’t go suck a lemon to get more:You can add lemon juice to almost anything to brighten it up. Seafood is a common partner with lemon juice and adding lemon zest to a pound cake makes it taste so good. Adding lemon juice to marinades for meat also helps to make the meat more tender.
Banana:

Almost everyone knows that bananas are great sources of Potassium, but do you know that they are an even better source of Vitamin B6? How about fiber? The best part about bananas is they have the taste and texture of something that you should feel guilty about but, they have almost no fat. You can even eat bananas without any teeth! (not that everyone is toothless)
Bananas belong in more than a peanut butter sandwich: bananas are one of the easiest ways to lower your calorie intake when you are ready to have dessert. Slice them, Puree them, freeze them, and they won’t hate you in the morning. They also make great snacks by filling up your tummy without filling you out. And let’s face it, Nutella taste even dreamier with bananas.
More yellow; More Sunshine!
Other yellow foods are out there waiting for you like a puppy who wants a treat. Peaches, mangoes, and pineapples, are fruity treats to give you a boost. Butter is yummy but use it in moderation. And some of the best cheeses are yellow. Don’t forget about all the spicy peppers out there to kick it up a notch!
